Not content with ignoring the current planning regulations, the Cork City Council Planning Department approves wholly inappropriate developments in the area. The streetscape of Magazine Road is particularly pretty with late Victorian terraces. The example below shows 2 houses that the Cork City Council planning department permitted. At this point of the road, there are very pretty original Victorian terraces on either side. The two new houses not only look completely inappropriate but extend out to the roadside, creating two dangerous blind corners for motorists and pedestrians.
